Mysterious Italvelo moped we found in Monza, Italy. We've never seen one like this before. Maybe you have?
This is a really clean bike for it's age. It seems to have been stored well. Definitely a unique find. This is a rare instance where we actually don't really know what we have. It is a small engine, perhaps not even a full 50cc. It has a belt to a mid pulley like a Motobecane or Peugeot that then goes to a chain final drive.
The frame is very compact and assembled in pieces kind of like some Solex were. It is also VERY light. That carry handle in the middle can actually be used. You wouldn't want to carry it far but if you need to take it up a few steps, totally doable. It weighs less than a Vespa Ciao.
This bike is in unrestored condition. It is a running project. It has clean looking Dellorto SHA carburetor. The belt looks worn and the tires are obviously old. Otherwise it looks in great shape!
Who is this for? Well, it isn't very fast so probably good for cruising the neighborhood or the campground. It's light enough that it would be an easy candidate for a pitbike at a swap meet. Park it in your cafe or vintage store? It is certainly neat to look at.
