The Start 5 engine is highly desirable for its ability to accept standard and common Flat Reed kits like the 43.5, 44, and 47mm Airsal kits while utilizing modern style scooter variators and rear clutch. Modern CDI provides strong, reliable spark.
Sporting 16" 5 spokes with very large drum brakes for effortless stopping. A very small pocket under the seat for carrying oil or snacks. Upright riding position for comfortable commuting. Turn signals and bright lights.
It has a keyed ignition that also opens the seat but does not have electric start. It was also originally equipped with oil-injection but was removed by the previous owner.
The Big Muff exhaust that was on it was dented so we replaced it with a brand new one.
The bike starts, runs, and stops. If you went to the Blk Blk rally in 2025, perhaps you saw it.
This Derbi is in pretty great shape for its age. Overall, very clean but it is not perfect. Expect typical blemishes in the paint. There are a couple small spots in the seat with one pretty decent tear in the vinyl that is pictured. The right side of the dash assembly has minor damage from transport from Spain. Plus the typical marks and scuffs you would expect. Otherwise, the paint is very strong and this bike seems to have been well taken care of before it was imported.
